Pattern Donation Program
Everyone deserves to have an inspiring room. That's why we created our "Bugs for Good" Program. In an effort to share with others, we donate patterns to individuals and groups who want to paint murals for deserving children's programs. These are some examples of people who have shared their talents with others. Please contact us if you would like to find out more or donate to this program.
Front Lobby
Isabella County Animal Control
For this project, a group of about 10 volunteers (ages 10 to 40+) gathered over a weekend to brighten the lobby of their local Animal Shelter. One lucky kitty even found a new home with one of the volunteers!

"I am a volunteer at the Isabella County (Michigan) Animal Shelter. I love the murals you added to the walls! They make the Shelter cheerful. Please tell everybody involved with painting the murals "thank you". Sincerely, Cathy Zuker

Pre-School Playgrounds
West End Day Care - Montreal, Quebec
"Dear Mary Burns and all the team at
Bug on a Wall,

We want to thank you for your generosity and your assistance. We used the great stencils from your company to make two fabulous murals on two outdoor walls that adorn our playgrounds.
We have one daycare, but two homes that house our pre-schoolers. We held a work weekend to clean...and to paint our two murals. We had 42 parents join us on that special day in late September. We accomplished all our cleaning and gardening tasks and completed the two beautiful murals, also. The mural painting inspired such a great turn out and participation.
Included are some photos of parents and educators working on the mural. There are also some shots of the children enjoying the final results.

Thanks again,
Paula Lamarre

BEFORE and AFTER PHOTOS
Questions and Answers with Maia Aziz
Parent Representative from West End Day Care and Coordinator for Mural Project

Q: How long did it take you to prepare for and paint your murals?
A:Paula spent a few weeks organizing and getting volunteers. The wall was prepped in a couple days, the stencils were (cut before hand),traced in one day and the painting was all done the next day.
Q: What was the most difficult part of the project?
A: Working on a rough outdoor surface- particularly the stenciling. Ok, and the fact that it started to rain didn't help! Working outdoors is very different than doing a mural inside. Even getting outdoor paint was more of a challenge. But it looks amazing on a sunny day!
Q: Did anything about the project surprise you?
A: Honestly, I was amazed how many people came out to help and how quickly it went as a result. Also, the difference when the colour is applied is almost breathtaking.
Q: How did the children react?
A: They absolutely loved it. And they were surprised because it was done over the weekend and they had no idea.
Q: Would you recommend this project to other organizations?
A: Absolutely. It has transformed the outdoor play area. It adds such joy, colour and brightness to the environment and it really feels like a "kid friendly" place. Also, just in terms of bringing people together for the kids, it was a really neat experience.
Q: Do you have any other feedback, comments or ideas for Bug on a Wall?
A: Just a huge thank you for your generosity, support and interest. Thanks so much.
Children's Playroom
The Hill Home - St. Paul Minnesota
Volunteers from
The Mom's Club - Woodbury North worked together over a weekend to transform the children's playroom at The Hill Home, a local domestic abuse shelter for women and children, with a bright and vibrant new mural. Using mural patterns donated by Bug on a Wall, these moms had a great time working together to create a happier space for moms and their children!

Children's Waiting Area
Community Mental Health for Central Michigan
This mural was painted by a group of student volunteers from Central Michigan University using patterns donated by
Bug on a Wall. Most had never painted a mural before, but in one afternoon they were able to transform the space into a welcoming cheerful place for children and families who utilize the center. And because Bug on a Wall patterns are flexible to use, the volunteers were able to fit the new mural around the existing furniture and equipment and match the existing decor!
A note to the volunteers:
Thank you for painting a mural in the children's waiting area in the lobby at CMHCM. We have received a lot of positive comments about how wonderful the mural is! May your kindness return to you in the same way it was offered! Again, thank you so much! - Everyone at CMHCM
